Converting feet to centimeters is the mirror image of the height question above: you have a height or measurement in feet (and usually inches), and you need the metric figure for a form, a medical record, or a conversation with someone who thinks in centimeters. A clean example: exactly 5 ft converts to exactly 152.4 cm — no rounding, because both units are defined as exact multiples of the meter.
If your starting figure is feet-and-inches rather than a clean number of feet — say, 5 ft 7 in — convert the inches to a decimal fraction of a foot first (7 ÷ 12 = 0.583 ft), add it to the whole feet (5.583 ft total), then convert that combined figure.
